Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Cramer in 1775. Also known by its junior synonym Anaea marthesia
Colour: Topside (recto) wings blackish brown with vivid scarlet red stripes on the forewings extending to a small spot/patch on the black hindwing. The underside (verso) is silvery-brown with additional black and reddish-brown markings.
Size: Wingspan 70-85mm
