Taxonomy Identification: Family Cossidae. First named by Drury in 1782
Colour: The forewings are brown with intricate black and cream outlined patterns. There is also a central cream-white patch and curved black line at the wing apex. Hind-wing black.
Size: Wingspan 60-70mm
Comments & Applications: A intricate and beautiful cossidae, not often offered for sale. A collectable species also ideal for framers, photography and the art and design industry.
NOTE to customer: Cossidae moths are renowned for producing excess body fats which leach into the abdomen and wings. Please be aware a degrease bath is the only sure way of removing excess fatty deposits.
