Taxonomy Identification: Family Mantidae, First named by Beier in 1913
Colour: The body and legs of this Mantid are dark brown. The forewings are transparent with darker markings. The hind-wings are likewise transparent with darker reddish veins and hooked tips to wings.
Size: Length measuring from the tip of the head to the end of the abdomen but excluding the legs and antenna: Male 100-115mm Wingspan 85-95mm.
Comments & Applications: This large tropical mantid has an unusually long stick-like body providing it with incredible camouflage among tree’s and bushes. A rare species seldom offered for sale. Mantid are always popular among collectors and the ideal subject for artwork, photography, framing, interior design, film, entertainment or educational purposes
