Taxonomy Identification: Family Dynastini, First named by Arrow, 1908
Colour: Head and prothorax jet black, elytra varies from black to reddish-black
Size: Length excluding legs 30-50+mm. Females lack horns. Smaller males (less than 35mm) are known as “minors” and have a much shorter less significant horn.
Comments & Applications: Found in the high mountain forest of North Vietnam, Laos, and South China. Female lacks the longhorn. Amazing broad shaped side horns, with a long single horn at the centre.
