Description

Quality built wooden box style display case/frame.

Case supplied empty – NO specimens

Hardboard backing with wall hook

Clear Perspex front

Optional card insert

Lined with 10mm white plastazote for easy pinning of specimens.
Plastazote is a high density foam-like material perfect for use in entomological frames/cases.

Internal depth 1.1 cm (between surface of plastazote and glass)

VERY IMPORTANT:

Please ensure that your specimens have bodies no deeper than 10mm, otherwise they will not fit in this case.

MOUNTING SET SPECIMENS IN CASE

 To mount your set specimen:

1) Lift securing tabs on backboard and remove backing. The case is made up of four parts, three wooden and the glass

2) Make sure the wall hook is at the top of the backboard before placing specimens, otherwise they will be upside down when the case is hung

4) Make sure the specimen bodies are no deeper than 10mm otherwise they will not fit in this case

5) Carefully pin specimens to the plastazote

6) If the body pin is too long use quality pin cutters to remove excess from top/bottom of body pin

7) Once your specimen/s are in position to prevent movement we recommend securing them in place by cross pinning the abdomen. Use thin pins and cut excess length off (see picture)

8) If atall possible avoid glueing specimens to plastazote. Excess glue will cause wings to lift

9) Remove dust from inside the main frame and clean glass with distilled water. We use microfibre cloths to buff the glass. 

10) To preserve your specimens and prevent mite/beetle infestation we suggest using “Indorex” flea spray both on the inside and outside of the case. Avoid getting spray on specimens. Indorex spray will last for several months before reapplication is needed

11) Once you are happy with the position of your specimens and have cleaned and protected your case you can put the case parts back together. Fix in the back board, secure with tabs and you are finished!

12) Finally mount your case out of direct sunlight otherwise the sun will bleach and destroy your specimens
