Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae > Danaidae. First identified by Cramer in 1780
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) on the male is black with pale white blue streaks. The underside (verso) wings are similar but paler.
Size: Wingspan 55-65mm
Comments & Applications: A lovely tiger butterfly from the oriental Thai region. Commonly called the Ismare tiger butterfly. Ideal for trade applications including frames, domes, wakk hangings, insect design.
