Description

Imperial Silkmoth (Boisduval 1868) Wingspan 95-105mm. Impressive species.

Note: Highly variable colours and patterns in this species. Unmounted, papered require relaxing and setting.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL silkmoths are prone to greasing/mould around the bodies, the abdomen is encased in tissue to help this – greasing to packet does not affect specimen. Mould can be cured with acetone.

ALSO because they have large abdomens alive, they are commonly seen to have “thin” abdomens when dried out, this DOES NOT harm the specimens.
