Taxonomy Identification: Family Papilionidae, First named by Linnaeus in 1758

Colour: Overall colour black with multiple yellow bars and spots and single red/blue spot on hindwings. Underside (verso) similar but with extra red and blue markings.

Size: Wingspan 70-85mm

Comments & Applications: A beautiful species, commonly called the lemon or lime swallowtail due to the larval host plant and also the chequered swallowtail due to its patterns.
