Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Cramer in 1777.
Colour: Topside (recto) wings reddish brown with black margin and short black marginal bar, some specimens have an additional faint white spot/s. The underside (verso) is a mixture of autumn orange-brown colours and flecks of white. Note the colouration and patterns are extremely variable.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
