Taxonomy Identification: Family Hymenoptera, sub-family Ichneumonidae first named by Fabricius in 1781
Colour: Overall colour yellow, black stripes/spots on thorax and abdomen. Female has long straight black ovipositor.
Size: Body length 14-20mm, Wingspan 20-28mm
Comments & Applications: A large tropical parasitic wasp of moth and butterfly larvae/pupae. Seldom offered for sale. This weird wasp is a nice addition to any entomological reference collection. Also useful for educational purposes, fine art, and macro photography.
