Taxonomy Identification: Family Arctiidae. First named by Hoeven in 1840
Colour: The topside (recto) forewings are creamy white with various dark brown lines. The hindwing is yellowish-orange with a sprinkling of brown spots. The abdomen in bright red with longitudinal black spots.
Size: Wingspan males 50-60mm – females 60-70mm
Comments & Applications: A most beautiful tropical tiger moth. Another unusual species available sporadicly. Its colours make this a very popular species among framers and the art and design industry.
Format: Unmounted, papered, requires relaxing and setting
