Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae > Ennominae. First named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: Forewings cream-white with rows of black spots. Hind-wings yellow with small and large black spots
Size: Wingspan 36-42 mm
Comments & Applications: A beautiful yellow and white moth speckled in black spots. Widespread across Europe inhabiting bogs with open woodland. Absent from Britain, similar looking to the Magpie Moth Abraxas grossulariata. A seldom offered species, perfect if you are starting your own European Moth reference collection. Also useful in education, film, media, artistry and interior design, frames and domes.
