Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Hufnagel in 1767
Colour: Forewings cream with dark basal patch and darker margins. Wings tips have a double black/brown patch. Hindwings cream with darker scalloped lines along margins.
Size: Wingspan 23-28 mm
Comments & Applications: Widely distributed species but always local inhabiting grassland, open woodland, limestone downland and lower mountain slopes. A very pretty moth and a nice addition for your Entomological reference collection; ideal for education, film, media, artistry and interior design
