Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775
Colour: Forewings a mixture of brown, black and greyish lines with a broad ruddy bar. Hindwings brown.
Size: Wingspan 23-27 mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce species isolated to locations in southern England and Wales. Inhabiting woodland, scrubland, downland and sea-cliffs. A very pretty moth and a nice addition for your Entomological reference collection; ideal for education, scientific projects or art, photography.
