Taxonomy Identification: Family Drepanidae. First named by Hufnagel in 1767
Colour: Overall pale sandy brown with twin black spots on the forewings. Hind-wings coloured similar with yellowish outer edge.
Size: Wingspan 18-30 mm
Comments & Applications: The ‘hook-tip’ moths get their name from the shape of the tips of the forewings. Found throughout England and Wales, absent further north.
