Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Notodontidae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller, in 1775

Colour: Forewings brown and cream with various patterns. Hind-wings pale brown. Some examples have dark forewings lacking the cream.

Size: Wingspan 33-38 mm

Comments & Applications:  Widespread over most of Britain, most common in the South inhabiting Oak woodland.
