Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Esper in 1791.
Colour: Forewings pale yellowish ochreous, dusted with rufous; the female deeper yellow than the male; inner and outer lines fine, reddish brown. Hindwings whiteish yellow.
Size: Wingspan 39-48 mm
Comments & Applications: A rare resident and immigrant species, isolated to the Midlands in England and central Scotland. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
