Taxonomy Identification: Family Eribidae > Arctiidae. First named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: The topside (recto) forewings are black with clear transparent windows. The abdomen is red with iridescent blue and black bars. The underside wings (verso) are almost identical but a little paler.
Size: Wingspan 35-43mm
Comments & Applications: This is rare wasp mimic moth, very colourful and a sought after collectors species. It is also a useful species in high end bespoke applications where uniqueness is desired.
