Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775
Colour: Forewings cream with thick brown bars. Hindwings pale with darker margin.
Size: Wingspan 25-30 mm
Comments & Applications: A widely distributed species, but local. Inhabiting woodland, grassy areas, chalk downland and scrubland. A very attractive moth and a nice addition for your Entomological reference collection; ideal for education, scientific projects or art, photography.
