Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Treitschke in 1825.
Colour: Forewings variable, from pale to dark brown. Hindwings white.
Size: Wingspan 28-36 mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce species, with a scattered distribution along coastal sandhill of the East Coast, from Suffolk northwards into eastern Scotland. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
