Description
Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae, first named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775
Colour: Pale grey-brown base colour with darker lines and small broken blotch on the forewing and black lined notch on tip; hindwing pale grey.
Size: Wingspan 22-27 mm
Comments & Applications: A woodland moth with its main strongholds in the southern half of England and Wales, odd colonies further North. Very similar to the Peacock moth but as its common name suggests this species has a deeper notch on the forewing, edged with blackish instead of brownish. Always a popular species with enthusiasts and a nice addition for Entomological reference collections, education, film, media, artistry and interior design
Format: Supplied SET, wings spread, mounted on a pin, cabinet ready with locational data
