Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775.

Colour: Forewings rufous brown, with bright white spot. Hind-wings cloudy grey-white.

Size: Wingspan 29-38 mm

Comments & Applications:  An immigrant to the United Kingdom, occurring mainly in the south and south-east of England northwards to Norfolk. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
