Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Barrett in 1896.
Colour: Forewings pale olive brown with row of small black marginal spots, often reduced to just two. Several colour variations. Hindwings dark smokey grey.
Size: Wingspan 33-40 mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce species, occurring in saltmarsh habitats in the south-eastern coastal counties of England,. Useful in education, reference collections, film, media, artistry and interior design, frames and domes.
