Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Linnaeus in 1761.
Colour: Forewings pale rufous ochreous finely dusted with small black dots and twin doube-lines and small white spot. Hind-wings rufous brown.
Size: Wingspan 37-47 mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce British moth distributed locally in southern England and Wales. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
