Taxonomy Identification: Family Notodontidae. First named by Esper in 1798.
Colour: Forewing pale brown with darker outer edge. Hind wings ivory with dark edge.
Size: Wingspan 45-70 mm
Comments & Applications: A very local species, occurring in scattered woodlands though south-east England, scarcer further north. Perfect if you are starting your own British Moth reference collection. Also useful in education, film, media, artistry and interior design, frames and domes.
