Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller, in 1775.
Colour: Base colour of wings pale greenish brown. Forewings more heavily marked, hind- wings pale with darker lines. Wings mottled throughout. A melanic form (f. monacharia) also occurs.
Size: Wingspan 35-40 mm
Comments & Applications: A pretty species with lovely mottled pale-green appearance. A relatively common moth in England and Wales, rarer or absent further North.
