Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, Morphini. First identified by Hopffer in 1874
Colour: Topside (recto) jet black with vivid blue bar/patch and faint blue ‘eye’ markings on hindwing. Underside verso wings are coloured olive brown with a central patch of creamy-white covered in various black pencil line patterns. Verso hind-wing margin two large white centred blue eye spots.
Size: Wingspan 75-85mm
