Taxonomy Identification: Family Notodontinae. First named by Linnaeus in 1758.
Colour: Forewing variable from a deep chestnut brown to paler brown with lighter markings. Hind-wings pale brown with small black spot on outer edge. Tuft of creamy hairs on the thorax.
Size: Wingspan 35-40 mm
