Taxonomy Identification: Family Erebidae. First named by Scopoli in 1763
Colour: Forewing’s pale yellow with single black spot, outer edges darker. Hind-wings straw brown.
Size: Wingspan 18-22 mm
Comments & Applications: Relatively common in southern Britain, frequenting Damp meadows and woodland, absent further north. A dainty yellow moth not often available.
