Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae, first named by Fabricius in 1775
Colour: Reddish brown moth, two main colour forms; forewings carry several darker lines and patch at wing apex. Pinkish bars sometimes observable along costal margin.
Size: Wingspan 30-40 mm
Comments & Applications: A widespread species found throughout Britain in a wide range of habitats. Ideal entry level species for Entomological reference collections. Useful in education, teaching tool or commercially in film, media, artistry and interior design
