Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Curtis in 1828.

Colour: Forewings grey speckled with brown and long olive brown streak. Hind-wings pale grey.

Size: Wingspan 29-34 mm

Comments & Applications:  A scarce and local species, restricted to fens in East Anglia, and in  freshwater reed beds in Dorset. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
