Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Goeze in 1781
Colour: Forewings whitish ochreous, sometimes sprinkled with dark fuscous; black dorsal streaks. Hindwings white.
Size: Wingspan 32-40 mm
Comments & Applications: A scarce and local species confined to parts of East Anglia and the south coast, inhabiting reed beds and fenland. Seldom offered for sale, a connoisseur species.
