Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae » Ennominae. First named by Scopoli, in 1763.
Colour: Creamy white moth with fine black veined wings. Underside (verso) similar but veins much darker.
Size: Wingspan 35-40 mm
Comments & Applications: A day-flying species frequenting rough downland, pastures and similar grassy places. Common and well distributed across Europe but very rare in Britain restricted to a handful of locations in south-east Kent and protected under UK law. Please note this is NOT a British example, but originates from captive breeding programmes in Poland.
Perfect if you are starting your own British Moth reference collection. Also useful in education, film, media, artistry and interior design, frames and domes.
