Taxonomy Identification: Family Noctuidae. First named by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775.
Colour: Forewings deep yellow ochreous with a brownish flush; markings all blackish. Hind-wings white with darker margins.
Size: Wingspan 33-38 mm
Comments & Applications: This attractive moth has a scattered distribution throughout much of England and Wales and into southern Scotland.
